How do you handle allergies?
We know food allergies and dietary needs are important. We've put together our Allergen Guide to help you make the best decision for yourself. Please note that all of our products are prepared in the same kitchen. While we take great care, we cannot guarantee that cross-contact with allergens has not occurred. Ask our team if you have any questions!

Do you make your own ice cream?
Yes! Every flavour is handcrafted right here in our Auburn Bay shop. Only small batches!

How many flavours do you offer?
We have 20 flavours on the menu. You'll always find our timeless classics, alongside a seasonal collection that changes four times a year and the occasional Flash Batch.

Do your flavours change?
Yes. While our classic flavours are available year-round, our seasonal collection celebrates the flavours of spring, summer, fall and winter.

Do you have dairy-free options?
We do offer sorbets and vegan flavours.

Are your waffles made fresh?
Every waffle is baked to order so it's warm, crisp and fluffy when it reaches your hands... and mouth! We are truly a one-of-a-kind shop in southeast Calgary if you crave a great waffle.

Why are your waffles so fluffy?
We make our batter from scratch with flour, egg, butter, buttermilk, baking soda and baking powder, that’s it! Our recipe also includes a little secret step - whipping the egg whites separately before gently folding them into the batter. That’s what creates the light, fluffy texture. It takes a little longer, but we think it's worth it.

How do your milkshakes work?
We are a prime destination for milkshakes in southeast Calgary! Choose any flavour among our ice cream menu, we will blend it with milk and then you can decide whether it deserves toppings like whipped cream and sprinkles.

What exactly is your waffle sundae?
Our waffle sundae is perfect for those days where you can’t decide between ice cream and waffle. It’s made with a scoop of ice cream (any flavour on the menu) and a few strips of fresh waffle, then you can decide on toppings!

Can I choose my cake’s flavour?
Yes! Choose any flavours from our menu and we'll make your cake to order. We simply ask for five days' notice. Contact admin@xoicecream.com to place your order.

Do you have cakes available today?
We do :) Our Cookies & Cream cake is always stocked in our take-home freezer. No pre-order required.

How big are your cakes?
They are all 9” cakes that serve 8 to 12 people, depending on your group’s appetite!

Can I order pints?
You can find us on Skip the Dishes and DoorDash. And you can always stop by the store as well.

Do you offer gift cards?
We sure do, both physical and digital. Load them with whatever amount your heart desires.

Is XO wheelchair accessible?
Yes! Our entrance is step-free.

Can I bring a stroller inside?
Absolutely! Families with little ones are always welcome.

Are dogs allowed?
Service animals are always welcome inside. Pups are welcome outside and we even have complimentary frozen treats for them!

Where should I park?
There’s plenty of free parking available outside the shop.

Can I bring my bike?
Yes! There are bike racks nearby, making XO a perfect stop after a ride around Auburn Bay.

Who owns XO?
We are Melanie and Darren, southeast Calgary residents! We have two children and were driven by bringing quality desserts to the suburbs. But not just dessert. We wanted to build a place where kids would celebrate the last day of school, grandparents would spoil their grandkids, friends would meet after soccer practice and families would create memories they’d remember for years to come.

When did XO open?
We opened XO in March 2018. Where does time go?!
